Halfway through 2016, whether it is Chang'an self-driving car completed a 2000-kilometer high-speed test in April,
or the "global mass-produced Internet car" Roewe RX5 jointly released by SAIC and Ali Group in June has won
wide attention from inside and outside the industry, so "autonomous driving" was listed as a keyword in China's
auto market in the first half of the year. So for independent car companies, what progress have they made in the
field of autonomous driving? Can their R&D investment support the future layout? Can 2016 become the first year
of autonomous driving development for Chinese car companies? The following is an interpretation for you one by one.
According to the statistics of the autonomous driving technology of domestic independent car companies, Gasgoo
found that a total of ten manufacturers are currently involved in this field. Among them, FAW Group, SAIC Group,
Changan Automobile, BAIC Group, and Great Wall Motor have demonstrated their test models equipped with primary
autonomous driving technology, and in the first half of 2016, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Dongfeng Motor, Geely
Automobile, BYD Automobile, and Lifan Automobile have also announced that they will complete autonomous driving
prototype tests in the next 5-10 years.
